Dr. Charmaine Roye

Dr. Charmaine Roye, MDCM, FRCSC, is a Canadian Certified Physician Executive and medical graduate from McGill University, where she also received her specialty training. She has practised obstetrics and gynecology since 1986, first in Montreal, Quebec, and then in Brantford, Ontario.

Charmaine has held administrative positions as Chief of Medical Staff of the Brant Community Healthcare System, Director of Professional Affairs and Strategic Health Alliances at the Canadian Medical Association, and Director of System Strategy and Engagement at the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

Executive-elected positions locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally have included Board positions with the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, the Medical Women’s International Association, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, the Canadian Medical Association, the Ontario Medical Association, and the Brant Community Healthcare System.

Charmaine is the recipient of several significant awards, including: the 2007 Exceptional Service Award from the Brant Community Healthcare System, the 2007 Excellence in Medical Leadership (Chris Carruthers) Award from the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders, and the 2009 May Cohen Award for Women Mentors of female physicians from the Federation of Medical Women of Canada.

Her Fellowship in Health System Improvement from the University of Alberta’s School of Public Health was completed in May 2017.
