COVID-19: An Update From Dr. Brian O’Rourke, CADTH President and CEO

For the latest updates and guidance on COVID-19, please consult the Public Health Agency of Canada.

As our country deals with the COVID-19 situation, CADTH has implemented several initiatives to mitigate the risks to our staff and ensure that we continue to support Canada’s health care decision-makers during this period.

Public health authorities have advised that social distancing is the most effective way to prevent transmission and spread of the coronavirus. Toward that end, we have:

  • closed our offices and required staff to work from home
  • begun hosting all internal and external meetings through virtual platforms
  • cancelled all domestic and international travel for staff
  • cancelled our 2020 CADTH Symposium.

As well, we have postponed our call for nominations to our Board of Directors and expert and advisory committees, recognizing the tremendous workload and uncertainty that clinicians, policy-makers, and others in the health system face in the days ahead.

We’re confident that these measures will ensure that we’re able to deliver our products and services uninterrupted during this period. We appreciate the support and understanding of all of our stakeholders.

Best regards,
Dr. Brian O’Rourke
CADTH President and CEO
