If you would like to participate as a pERC member or as a guidance panel member, please review our nomination and selection package.

Clinical Guidance Panels

We are currently recruiting oncologists to sit on the 11 Clinical Guidance Panels, which are structured around specific tumour types. The tumour-based panels are: breast, endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, head and neck, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, lung, melanoma, neuro-oncology, and sarcoma.

Members of the Clinical Guidance Panels will spend an average of 5 to 15 hours per month on their work. There may be more than one drug under review at any given time requiring the involvement of the same Clinical Guidance Panel.

Clinical Guidance Panels conduct their work online and via conference calls (with occasional in-person meetings, as required).

Appointments to the Guidance Panels are for a period of two to three years. For more information about eligibility and how you may apply, please see our nomination and selection package. If you are eligible and interested in becoming a Clinical Guidance Panel member, please email your resume, cover letter, and references to [email protected].

Economic Guidance Panels

We are currently recruiting economists with knowledge of pharmacoeconomics. The Economic Guidance Panels are established as each cancer drug is submitted, and they assess the economic evidence provided by the submitter.

We estimate that members of the Economic Guidance Panels will spend an average of 5 to 15 hours per month on their work. There may be more than one drug review at any given time.

Economic Guidance Panels conduct their work online and via conference calls (with occasional in-person meetings, as required).

Appointments to the Guidance Panels are for a period of two to three years. For more information about eligibility and how you may apply, please see our nomination and selection package. If you are eligible and interested in becoming an Economic Guidance Panel member, please email your resume, cover letter, and references to [email protected].

pCODR Expert Review Committee (pERC)

pERC is comprised of oncologists, pharmacists, health economists, patients, and a non-oncology physician. The role of pERC members is to assess the clinical evidence (from the Clinical Guidance Panel) and cost-effectiveness (from the Economic Guidance Panel) of new cancer drugs, and to use this information to make recommendations to the provinces and territories to guide their drug funding decisions. The Chair will lead this group.

pERC members spend, on average, two days (15 hours) per month on pCODR work, including participating in monthly pERC meetings.

In-person pERC meetings will be held in Toronto. Appointments to pERC are for a period of two to three years. For more information about eligibility and how you may apply, please see our nomination and selection package. If you are eligible and interested in becoming a pERC member, please email your resume, cover letter, and references to [email protected].
