British Columbia Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health has overall responsibility for ensuring that quality, appropriate, cost-effective, and timely health-services are available to all British Columbians.

Alberta Health and Wellness

The Minister of Health and Wellness and Alberta Health Service are key players in Alberta's health care system. The Minister is aided by department staff members and various advisory bodies, and directed by government as a whole in setting policy for health care. The Department of Health and Wellness implements and ensures compliance with policy.

Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors

Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors — a provincial government department — oversees health care services available to Manitobans.

Saskatchewan Health

Saskatchewan Health establishes policy direction, sets and monitors standards, provides funding, supports regional health authorities and other organizations, and ensures the provision of essential and appropriate services.

Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is working to establish a patient-focused, results-driven, integrated and sustainable, publicly funded health system.

New Brunswick Department of Health

The New Brunswick Department of Health provides oversight; leading and enabling a sustainable health system through planning, funding, monitoring, and strategic service delivery.

Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness

The Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, the district health authorities, and the IWK Health Centre have a shared mission to work together to empower individuals, families, partners, and communities to promote, improve, and maintain the health of Nova Scotians through a proactive and sustainable health care system.

Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Health and Community Services

The Department of Health and Community Services provides a leadership role in health and community services programs and policy development for the province. This involves working in partnership with a number of key stakeholders including regional boards, community organizations, professional associations, post-secondary educational institutions, unions, consumers, and other government departments.

Health PEI

Health PEI is responsible for the operation and delivery of all health services on Prince Edward Island. It is committed to improving access to health services for all Islanders and ensuring that care is provided in the right place, at the right time, by the right person (see PEI Pharmacare).

Cancer Agencies

BC Cancer Agency

The BC Cancer Agency, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority, provides a province-wide, population-based, cancer control program for the residents of British Columbia and the Yukon. 

Alberta Health Services

Alberta Health Services provides a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.

CancerCare Manitoba

CancerCare Manitoba is dedicated to excellence in cancer care, to enhancing the quality of life for those diagnosed and living with cancer and blood disorders, and to improving the control of cancer for all Manitobans.

Saskatchewan Cancer Agency

At the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, leadership in cancer control is provided for the people of Saskatchewan through prevention, early detection, treatment, and research.

Cancer Care Ontario

Cancer Care Ontario is the provincial agency responsible for continually improving cancer services. As the government's cancer advisor, Cancer Care Ontario works to reduce the number of people diagnosed with cancer, and make sure patients receive better care every step of the way.

New Brunswick Cancer Network

The Network is a division of the Department of Health established to create an evidence-based provincial strategy for all elements of cancer care including prevention, screening, treatment, follow-up care, palliative care, education, and research.

Cancer Care Nova Scotia

Cancer Care Nova Scotia enables quality cancer prevention and care for all Nova Scotians.

Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, Eastern Health, Newfoundland & Labrador

The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre houses services which are dedicated to the treatment and support of cancer patients.

Prince Edward Island Cancer Treatment Centre

The Prince Edward Island Cancer Treatment Centre has been serving Island residents since its doors opened in 1999. Its team of medical professionals and support staff work to provide the best in cancer care in one of Atlantic Canada's most advanced and up-to-date facilities.
