The 2024 Watch List aims to identify and describe technologies and issues related to the care of children and youth with medical complexity that are likely to affect health care delivery and planning in Canada in the next 5 years. By doing so, the 2024 Watch List will help health care decision-makers anticipate future challenges and opportunities for improving the delivery of care for children and youth with medical complexity.
Children and youth with medical complexity are a diverse group with unique needs that involve care coordination and communication across many clinical areas and settings. Children, youth, and their families and caregivers interact frequently with the health system and with health technologies.
