Setting Priorities and Making Decisions in Health Care: Criteria-Based Decision Frameworks

Setting priorities and allocating resources in health care are challenging. However, criteria-based decision frameworks offer a transparent, explicit, and systematic approach that can simultaneously assess multiple criteria when priority setting. Join us to learn how these frameworks can be used, and are being used, to improve decision-making and support different health care decisions in practice.

During this webinar, CADTH Scientific Affairs Director Michelle Mujoomdar will discuss:

  • Criteria-based decision frameworks, in particular “multicriteria decision analysis,” and why we use them
  • How such frameworks have been used to support decision-making in practice (e.g., capital equipment prioritization)
  • Best practices to follow when using criteria-based decision frameworks
  • Considerations and challenges related to the application of these approaches.
