It’s been 1 year since CADTH launched the Post-Market Drug Evaluation (PMDE) Program to provide decision-makers with evidence about drugs that have been approved and are already in use by people in Canada. With the PMDE program, CADTH is enhancing how we evaluate drugs across their life cycle and advancing efforts to incorporate real-world evidence into our assessments.

CADTH’s post-market evidence is playing a key role in decision-making about drugs to treat COVID-19.

Today is World Evidence-Based Healthcare Day, a global initiative to raise awareness about the need for better evidence to inform decision-making and improve health outcomes. This year’s theme is Evidence and Global Health Equity. CADTH is proud to support this initiative and share some of our latest insights and work on this important issue.

Join Canadian and international health technology experts from Wednesday, September 4 to Friday, September 6, 2024, for the return of the CADTH Symposium.

The 2024 Symposium will be a 3-day hybrid event with both in-person and virtual attendance options. The in-person program will take place at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Registration for both options will open in the spring of 2024.

CADTH has appointed new members to its 3 expert review committees: the Canadian Drug Expert Committee, the pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review Expert Review Committee, and the Health Technology Expert Review Panel. CADTH has also appointed new members to its Post-Market Drug Evaluation Advisory Committee.  

CADTH has introduced a new type of recommendation. Time-limited drug reimbursement recommendations are a new recommendation category that will aim to help provide earlier access to promising new treatments that target the unmet needs of people in Canada living with severe, rare, or debilitating illnesses.
