Abstracts must be received by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, May 10, 2024. Decisions will be sent to submitters by May 31, 2024

Late-Breaking Abstract Eligibility

A late-breaking abstract must meet at least 1 of the following 3 criteria:

  • It must report on recently generated findings on important clinical, methodological, or policy topics for which no preliminary data were available on February 2, 2024 (when the original Call for Abstracts closed).
  • It must address a topic that has increased in profile or significance since February 2, 2024, due to political, financial, or policy factors.
  • It must provide new information on appropriate use or increasing access to pan-Canadian drug and treatment data to enable robust data analytics.

Abstracts previously submitted as part of the original Call for Abstracts will not be considered.

Symposium 2024 invites submissions of abstracts for early morning sessions, workshops, and panels, as well as oral and poster presentations related to the theme of “From Disruption to Opportunity: Embracing Change in Health Care” or that are of significant interest to producers and users of evidence-based information and advice on drugs and health technologies.

Who Should Submit an Abstract?

Presentations from all interested parties are welcome. These include:

  • federal, provincial, and territorial health care policy-makers and regulators
  • health care executives and managers from health regions, alliances, hospitals, and long-term care facilities
  • researchers (from nonprofit organizations, universities, regional health authorities, hospitals, and other settings)
  • health economists
  • knowledge transfer and exchange professionals
  • clinicians
  • representatives from the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries, and consultants
  • health care associations and patient groups
  • professional associations
  • graduate and undergraduate students studying in a health or health technology assessment-related field. 

Note: Some invited sessions and presentations may also be incorporated into the program.

Please note that presenters and panellists are responsible for all Symposium-related expenses, such as registration, accommodation, and travel.
